RCORP-III

West Central Alabama Area Health Education Center is the recipient organization of the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program(RCORP) Implementation III—a multi-year initiative that addresses barriers to treatment for substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD). The program works toward the Health and Human Services’ goal of ending the opioid epidemic. RCORP is supported through HRSA’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. RCORP III serves the counties of Butler, Conecuh, Covington, Dallas and Wilcox.

Cahaba Center for Mental Health

Cahaba Center for Mental Health (CCMH), serving the community since 1973, operates an array of mental health programs.  CCMH’s mission is to be responsive to the mental health needs of the community in a manner that respects individual dignity, promotes recovery, and enhances personal, family, and provider relationships. CCMH also aims to provide quality mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services within the limits of available resources to the residents of Dallas, Perry, and Wilcox Counties.

Health and Wellness Education Center

Health and Wellness Education Center, a nonprofit organization located in Livingston, Alabama, serves a vast majority of Southwest Alabama counties and has extensive relationships with partners in all proposed project service areas. The mission of the Health and Wellness Education Center is to increase the overall health of rural Alabamians through health and wellness education programs across the region.

Rural Health Medical Program, Inc.

Rural Health Medical Program, Inc., a primary care provider based in Selma, Alabama, covers two counties within the project service area: Dallas and Wilcox. Established in 1978, Rural Health Medical Program, Inc. (RHMPI) is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) expanding access to care for medically underserved residents of Clarke, Dallas, Perry, Wilcox, Marengo and Monroe counties, in rural Alabama. RHMPI provides services to patients regardless of their ability to pay, accepts public and private insurance, and uses a Sliding Fee Scale Policy based on the U.S. Federal Poverty guidelines for those who are uninsured and underinsured. RHMPI provides culturally-competent, comprehensive primary, preventive, and supplemental health services to all people.

South Central Alabama Mental Health Board, Inc.

South Central Mental Health Board, Inc., (SCMHB) a mental health care provider based in Andalusia, Alabama, covers two counties within the service area: Butler and Covington. SCMHB is a 501c3 organization providing an array of services to mentally ill, substance abuse, and developmentally disabled individuals in Butler, Coffee, Covington and Crenshaw Counties. SCMHB serves approximately 4,500 persons annually, and provides an array of services to community members, including Rehabilitative Day Programs, Intensive Day Programs, Supportive Housing, Case Mgt. (Adult and Children), Small Capacity Group Home, Children's and Adult In-Home Services, Juvenile Court Liaison, Probate Court, Outpatient Therapy, Hospital Evaluations, Geriatric Services, Psychiatric Services, Crisis Intervention, Testing, Med Monitoring and Information and Referral. SCMHB also operates a Crisis Residential, Intensive Outpatient and Court Referral Programs offered on behalf of their Substance Abuse Division.

Southern Alabama Area Health Education Center

The Southern Alabama Area Health Education Center (AHEC), a nonprofit organization located in Georgiana, Alabama, covers a 10-county service area across Southern Alabama which includes the following counties: Baldwin, Butler, Clarke, Covington, Crenshaw, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington. The Southern Alabama AHEC recruits, trains and retains a healthcare workforce committed to serving rural and undeserved communities across Southern Alabama. They partner with local, state and federal agencies, health care organizations and providers, colleges and universities, high schools and career tech programs and many other community partners within their service area and across the state.

Cahaba Medical Care

Cahaba Medical Care is a Community Health Center (FQHC), accredited as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Joint Commission. We have locations throughout central Alabama serving Bibb, Perry, Chilton, Shelby, Wilcox,  and Jefferson Counties. Our health centers provide comprehensive primary care services, including treatment and management of chronic and acute diseases; preventative care and cancer screenings; pediatric care; women’s health services; prenatal care and obstetrics; dermatological services; geriatrics; sports medicine services; mental healthcare; dental services and much more.

Our clinics are currently staffed by more than 60 healthcare providers, 13 social workers/licensed counselors, two registered dietitians, and a dedicated team of nurses and medical assistants whose job it is to assist our patients in becoming healthier individuals.
